Dr Allie Hare, consultant physician in sleep medicine

About Dr Hare

Sleep medicine is still widely misunderstood. My aim is to give you a proper explanation.

I trained in medicine at Cambridge and Imperial College London, became a consultant at the Royal Brompton Hospital in 2014, and I am Clinical Lead for Sleep Medicine there.

In every consultation I offer the same three things: a thorough assessment, a clear diagnosis and a treatment plan that fits your life.

What to expect

Four simple steps, from your first email to a plan you understand.

01

Book

Choose online or in person. My PA will confirm a time, usually by email.

02

Consultation

A thorough history of your sleep, your health and how it affects your days.

03

Tests, if needed

A home study or laboratory test only if it will change your care.

04

Your plan

A clear diagnosis, treatment that fits your life and follow-up as needed.

Performance, longevity, everyday life

Sleep is one of the most powerful levers in human performance.

I advise Formula 1 teams and drivers, Premier League footballers, professional boxers and executives. Whether you are an athlete or simply someone who has not slept properly in years, you deserve the same level of care.

FAQs

Questions people ask me.

Do I need a GP referral?

If you are paying for yourself you can book directly. Many insurers ask for a GP referral and an authorisation number, so please check with yours first.

Yes. Most of my consultations take place by secure video, in full privacy, so wherever you are in the UK your first appointment can be at home. I also see patients in person at three London clinics.

A new consultation is £300 and a follow-up is £250. Tests are charged separately and we will explain the cost before anything is arranged.

Not everyone does. If a study will help, I will explain why, what it involves and what we hope to learn from it.

I am recognised by Bupa, AXA, Aviva, Vitality, WPA and Cigna, and also by Bupa Global, Healix, The PHC, Benenden Health and General & Medical. Please check your cover, and ask your insurer for an authorisation number, before booking.
